Welcome to Treatment 4 Dentists

Addiction is disease that hits all communities, all peoples, and all nations. Research has shown that certain groups have a greater than normal susceptibility to chemical dependency, though. While genetics factors are still being discovered, to date elements of lifestyle are known to significant indicators and instigators of dependency. High stress, thrill seeking behavior, isolation, chronic strain, and, most important, access to substances are all known to be factors related to substance abuse. Medical professionals, dentists in particular, fit this profile and are known to have increased rate diseases of psychological strain such as depression, suicide, and addiction.

However, hope abounds. The same motivational and competitive instincts that make these individuals susceptible to substance abuse can be turned into a powerful driving force for recovery. With treatment, encouragement, and support, the majority of “impaired dentists” are able to return to their place within the professional workforce.
